Land, terrain or soil, are the most common names with which we describe the upper and softer layer that covers the earth's crust, resulting from the alteration of a bedrock and that, mixed with organic compounds, water and gas, give substance and life to an extraordinary element of our planet.

In fact, the soil is the habitat of many living organisms from which many species get their nourishment. 

Without a fertile land, rich in nutrients, minerals and water, could not exist plants, insects, microorganisms, and then agriculture, ... in short, the soil is a fundamental element in the cycle of life and the food chain. 

The lack of land, lack of fertile soil or a polluted soil mean absence or scarcity of food. This means difficulty to feed all the human race, as well as other living species on our planet.

The earth deserves our respect and more protection. The soil would need a greater commitment and awareness from all human beings, so to be protected and preserved against destruction, pollution and degradation.

All this for the wellness and safety of all, especially for the life of the future generations.
